Fancy a 10k trail run or Nordic walk through the beautiful Whinlatter Forest near Keswick in the Lake District on a Summer’s evening? Whinlatter 10k is run on the designated mountain bike/walkers trails in the forest which vary from wide stony paths to winding singletrack through the trees, climbing to reach Seat How, giving stunning views across Bassenthwaite and Keswick beyond.
Whinlatter 10k takes place within the boundaries of Whinlatter Forest, Braithwaite, Keswick, CA12 5TW. Whinlatter has unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick and is home to a host of wildlife, from red squirrels to the Bassenthwaite ospreys who nest near the forest from April to August.
Road - From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite, turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts uphill for 2 miles. Bus - Bus from Keswick, Train - Nearest station is Penrith (25 miles east) on the west coast mainline.
Whinlatter 10k will be held on Saturday 27th June 2020 starting at 7:30pm.
Whinlatter 10k is an approximately 10k trail run, held on the designated mountain bike/walkers trails within the forest. The route will be marked with small arrows and there’ll be marshals at numerous points throughout the route.
How Can I Enter?
Whinlatter 10k is open to runners of all abilities and nordic walkers, aged 18 years or over on race day.
Entries are only available online. There are no postal entries for Whinlatter 10k. You must provide a valid email address for all race correspondence. All online payments are safe and secure.
Online entries will receive an email confirmation of entry. All race numbers will be collected from Registration on Race Day before 7.00pm. All runners will receive a pre race email approximately one week prior to race day with all 'on the day' information.

Pre Race Briefing?
There'll be a Pre Race Briefing for ALL competitors at 7.15pm.
There'll be free on site parking for all competitors and spectators at the Main Car Park. Parking will be supervised by the Event marshals.
There'll be a drinks station at approximately 6.5k providing water and jelly babies and at the finish providing water, squash and snacks.
First Aid will be available at the Start/Finish area.
James Kirby is the official Whinlatter 10k photographer, so smile nicely! The photographs will be available to download and share for free from the event facebook page following the event.
Coffee Bean and Gone will be on site from 17:00
Key storage will be available at Registration. Registration will be supervised throughout the duration of the event, however Pure Personal Training Ltd cannot be held responsible for any loss of keys/property left at Registration.
All finishers will receive the bespoke wooden Whinlatter 10k medal.
There'll be prizes for the first, second and third male and female runners and the first Nordic walker.
Toilets are located at the Visitor Centre.
The race is run on designated mountain bike/walkers trails which are predominantly of an even, stony surface, so road or trail shoes will be just fine.

We will be happy to offer a 50% refund of the entry fee up until 2 months prior to Whinlatter 10k or a transfer to another Pure Outdoors Events event. After this time we regret that we will not be able to provide any refund, transfer or credit either in part or in full, whatever the circumstances of the entrants' non-attendance.
